The Mawandoseg Kitigan Zibi community is the largest Algonquian nation in Canada. This community rich in cultural traditions invites you to visit the Big Beaver’s Trading Post, the Mawandoseg Algonquian interpretation centre and the cultural center of the Kitigan Zibi community.
At the Mawandoseg Kitigan Zibi interpretation centre, you will see this handicraft population in action. You will see them tan animal skins, make drums, snowshoes and bark canoes, as well as listen to their traditional tales in a wigwam. You will also have the possibility to do archery and trapping, and to sample Amerindian dishes. Interactive workshops and traditional dance demonstrations are also offered.
