Home to Two Important Prime Ministers

The Laurier House was home to two influential prime ministers: Sir Wilfrid Laurier, who was prime minister from 1896 to 1911, and William Lyon MacKenzie King, who governed the country from 1921 to 1948. The Laurier House was built in 1878 and nowadays, it tells the story of the life and achievements of these two former prime ministers. During the guided visit, you will learn more about the life of the two men, but also about Ottawa's development through the years.
