Lac-des-Plages

Beaches, Beaches… and More Beaches!

The municipality of Lac-des-Plages, which was officially founded in 1950, was once known under the name of Lac Désormeaux. Then, it was called Lac Rond to finally take the name Lac-des-Plages, because of the many beautiful municipal beaches stretching along its lake. Nowadays, more than 400 people enjoy its outstanding décor and its abundant nature.

Nowadays, the municipality no longer exploits its forests, but concentrates its economy on the tourist potential of its territory. If you stay in the Outaouais region, make sure you stop by Lac-des-Plages, whatever the season. In spring, you can visit a sugar shack, in summer, you can enjoy the beaches, the lake, the parks, the golf course and the summer theatre, whereas in autumn and spring, you can hunt or fish. In winter, the cross-country skiing and snowmobiling paths invite you to enjoy the outdoors.
