Full of Activities

As early as 1825, forest companies started exploiting the wealth of this territory. Around 1840, some lumberjacks decided to establish here to cultivate the land in the region. The city of La Pêche was born from the merging of several municipalities, including Wakefield, which was added to the city in 1845.

Nowadays, the district of Wakefield presents numerous attractions, in addition to being located near the Gatineau Park. Speaking of the Gatineau Park, the MacKenzie-King Estate awaits you to make you discover this important prime minister of Canada. You can also visit the charming covered bridge or the Wakefield Mill. The Hull-Chelsea-Wakefield Steam Train, for its part, will provide hours of relaxation while informing you about the region.
