Chelsea

The municipality of Chelsea is a tourist destination that is very appreciated by the outdoor lovers. Whatever the season, it is possible to do a whole range of sports and activities, all more interesting than the other. You will be pleased by the numerous artist workshops, restaurants and enchanting scenery.

In the Gatineau Park, you can go hiking, biking, camping or swimming at one of the six secure beaches. You can also go fishing in lac Philippe and visit the Lusk Cave. Winter also proposes many outdoor activities like skiing and snowshoeing. At the centre des visiteurs, you can visit the exhibition about the activities, wildlife and flora of the park.

Then dive into the country atmosphere of the last century by visiting the MacKenzie King Estate, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2003. For more than 50 years, this estate was the summer residence of the tenth prime minister of Canada, William Lyon Mackenzie King. In the gardens, you will find an impressive collection of ruins that King put there. The interpret-guides, the audio-visual presentations and the interpretation panels will give you a good idea of what Canada was like at the time of this prime minister.
